GMO 101 – GMO’s have been found to increase the use of toxic chemicals in our environment. They are linked to cancer, allergies and autoimmune disorders in animal studies and kill bees, lady bugs and butterflies.
To avoid GMOs, choose products with the USDA Organic Certified and Non-GMO Project Verified labels as seen in the pictures here. Remember, 100% natural does not equal GMO free. Actually, beware of the word Natural.. It’s overused and most likely is NOT NATURAL.
If the product is conventional or marked natural, it likely contains GMO’s. The danger to humans who are actually allergic to certain foods won’t even know what they are eating. For example, say someone is deathly allergic to peanuts. A GMO may have a gene from a peanut in them. The allergic person could get a reaction from eating ANYTHING that contained the peanut gene. They wouldn’t even know what caused it – because there are no labelling laws about GMOs.
And…..Pesticides are now going to be INSIDE the food you eat!
I am very happy to announce my collaboration with Andrea Privitera. Andrea is a Board Certified Holistic Health Coach. She has a fascinating story of beating Crohn’s disease without medication..all by changing her diet. She is now coaching people on wellness according to nutrition. As she says, “Change your diet, change your life..I did”
These companies have been accused of having either non-organic, gmo or other unacceptable labeling practices and donated money to defeat Proposition 37. It gives us the right to know if our food has been genetically engineered.
