teflon pan

Teflon Pans
Heated to very high temperatures, teflon pans release at least 6 toxin gases, two of which are known to be carcinogenic. Also, scratches or nicks in the teflon coating allow tiny amounts of inert plastic and leached aluminum to cling to cooked food. For this reason Cast Iron or Stainless Steel pans are the safer alternative. Definitely dispose of ANY non-stick pans that are peeling or cracked. If you HAVE TO HAVE a Teflon pan , make sure you do not heat it over 500 degrees, and then only use wooden utensils on them. Watch or ask any cook, they all use wooden utensils on their pots and pans.
